favorite Authors & books

I’ll read anything by C.S. Lewis: Out of the Silent Planet, Till We Have Faces, and The Horse and His Boy are my all-time favorites. Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, J.R.R. Tolkien, Alexandre Dumas... I’m all about classical literature. I find the prose lyrical and addictive. I’m pretty sure I was born in the wrong era.

As for children’s literature, I’m head over heels for Roald Dahl, J.M. Barrie, Louis Sachar, and more recently, Kate DiCamillo.

BACKGROUND

I’ve dabbled in just about everything. You may have seen me on stage in community theater productions; singing in my dad’s southern rock band; volunteer teaching and organizing community events with AmeriCorps in Chicago; training service dogs for people with ambulatory disabilities; managing or marketing my husband’s security business; or as a featured agent on YouTube and Twitter with Ford Motor Company’s Fiesta Movement.

Interests

Inventing new recipes, photography, making short films, discovering new places, power-shifting the Fiesta, squeezing the cat and dog, chatting with the husband, making my own anything: soap, scarves, root beer...
